![]() Through music we are able to come together and express our love for each other and our faith. King Avenue hosts a variety of musical programs and invites everyone to join in. For more information about King Avenue's Music Ministries, please Director of Music, Chris McManus.
Chancel Choir:
Our Chancel Choir sings for the 11:00 service each Sunday September through June. Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m., beginning September 7. Repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary.
Bell Choir:
Our bell choir rings a 4-octave set of handbells, as well as a 3-octave set of handchimes. The bell choir rings approximately once a month in the 11:00 service and participates in the annual Bell Festival in early May. Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m. beginning September 7. New members are welcomed into the choir as openings allow. Some experience in handbell ringing and music reading is helpful.Blenders: This small vocal and instrumental ensemble sings for the informal Morning Blend service each Sunday morning. Musical styles range from folk to contemporary. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m.
In addition to the variety of music programs we host, many members of our congregation are involved in, or supporters of, the Capital Pride Band, the Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus and the King Avenue Players. We also welcome frequent musical guests to our church so that we may all join in a diverse expression of musical celebration.
